wood branding iron stamp

hey guys and welcome to cricut! you know the customization is all the rage right now. it is so easy to customizeanything you have using text and images in cricut design space. like thispurse, a scarf even this shirt. the possibilities are seriously unless. thisamazing t-shirt will come together so quickly so let's get started. we're goingto need a t-shirt, black iron-on, silver

wood branding iron stamp, glare iron-on, an iron and press cloth orclean cotton cloth. open cricut design space and make sure you're logged andthen click on create new project. a helpful feature cricut design space isthe ability to set a custom canvas. there's a large selection of canvases tochoose from but today we're making a

t-shirt so lets search for shirt. ourshirt is a v-neck style so we'll click on that option. after selecting the canvaswere brought back to the design screen. let's zoom out so we can see the canvas.the v-neck shirt is showing on the screen in the background now. remember the project canvas it doesn't cut but we can use it as a guide as we design.canvas just help you visualize your finished project. we can customize thecanvas even more so it looks just like the shirt we're using. by opening thecanvas panel we have the option to change the size and color. now this shirt is a woman's shirt size small and it's gray so i'll chose that, perfect! i really like shirts withtext on them. for our shirt let's

encourage people to have an amazing day. i want to use two different fonts on this project so we need to type ourphrase in two separate text boxes. now we get to play with font styles. i think the firstpart of the phrase should be a script font and there's a script style cricutfont i like called billionaire. we can filter for cricut fonts in the edit panel andhere we can scroll through the fonts list until we find the one we want. or ifyou want to take a short cut you can just take the name in the search field.for the second part of the phrase, let's use a different font. i like to use avariety of styles and lettering. the text editing tool remembers the last searchterm we use so we'll need to delete it.

now we can scroll down and find anotherfont. i really like this combination of fontstyles but i think i would like the script more if it were connected. in theedit panel we can change the spacing between letters. there's quite a bit ofspace here so let's start by typeing in "0". alright they're closer but i want the letters totouch each other so i'll just click the down arrow to move them closer in smallincrements. most of the letters are touching now. i wanna weld this texttogether so it becomes one solid cuts, but in order to do it i need to overlapthe remaining letters. if i keep nudging them closer together some of the letterswill end up too close to each other. we

need to move the letters one of the time,so click isolate letters. isolating has separated the phrase into individuallayers so we can move each letter on its own. welding combines text or images togetherwhere they overlap to create a new image. i like to weld script text to it flowssmoothly from one letter to the next. once welded the individual layers show as a welded image in the layers panel. here's where we can really utilize the projectcanvas. since we know that the canvas is a virtual representation of our shirt. wecan use it as a guide to sizer images. we're using black and silver iron-on solet's change the colors to coordinate with our materials.

i want the word amazing to stand out even more. let'stry turning on the shadow layer for this font. i like that but i'm still lookingfor a more dramatic effect. i think we need to change the placement, and to do this we need to distribute letters to layers. this separates the text and shadow layers so each can be moved individually but the text will remaingrouped as words. this change shows up in the layers panel. now we can move thesilver glitter phrase so more of the shadow layer shows. i think the shadow layer should be black. let's add a boarder to the image using some free shapes. unlock the aspect ratio of the square and change the shape

into a line. reduce the size of the starand place it on the line. we can use the weld feature again to combine the starand line into one border image. alright, i like this addition to the design. lastly, weneed to tell the software to cut our design exactly as it appears onthe canvas using attach. so select and attached all of the black layers, thenselect and attach all the glitter layers. once you're happy with theproject, click "save", name the file then click "save" again. let's cut! since we are cutting iron-on, whichis placed face down on the mat, we do need to remember to check the mirrorimage for iron-on box. this make sure to

flip the text. if everything looks goodin the mat preview, click go. place the iron-on on the cutting mat and remember to place a shiny side down. set your dial. for glitter iron-on, set the dial to the markbetween the iron-on and light cardstock settings. load the map into the machineand press the blinking "go" button on your machin follow the on-screen prompts to cut theblack images and remember to place the iron-on shiny side down on the mat andto change the dial to iron-on. our images are cut but they aren't quite ready touse. first we need to remove the excessmaterial from around the images. this

process is called weeding and cricutweeder tool makes so easy. it's best to preheat the areawhere we'll be applying the design. use a press cloth to protect the iron-onmaterial and use the iron to transfer the images to the shirt. i like to applypressure to make sure it's really attached. now we can add the silverglitter lay er by following the same processes. and it's finished! i bet youcan't wait to wear it. stay tuned for the next video in ourtutorial series. we'll learn how to alter images using the slice featuring cricut design space. cricut makes it easy to go from inspiration to creation.
