antique woodworking tools auction

hello ladies and gents! i am at baltimore's woodworking show (jan. 3-5, 2015) let's start with the entrance to the show there is a great selection of lumber here nice burl for woodturners

antique woodworking tools auction, price for this one is $150 one can come and test any of these veritas hand tools one can grab and test any of these planes...

this is still the same exposition there are other brands besides veritas at the lee valley stand it is sharp and feels like a real tool this is a "new product" stand looks like there will be some lessons here this is all veritas equipment and tools the is a new line of the custom fit hand planes most of their planes now can be customized nice ergonomics

well-balanced router plane one will never be able to buy them all:)) this is their premium block plane model feel good in my hand this one is pretty hefty their typical mouse adjustment system nice iron adjustment system here different size radius spoke shaves

flat sole bulging sole i've got this one specialty plow planes it s big boy tiny rabbet plane:)) tiny router plane:)) the funniest thing--everything works on it tiny planes for model makers

the quality is definitely high and yet some more... and some scrapers here one can get lost from all these choice here:)) i like this hold down clamp by veritas presenter's works he is teaching the green wood turning tricks rockers made in sam maloof style using his techniques you can see his tools and jigs here

this is the guy from the picture this is my chance to sit in maloof's rocker:)) of course, it's a copy as the real one would be $$$ this section of the show looks like the flea market this guy makes wooden hats! they are selling their line of woodturning tools they also sell tool sharpening jigs and systems diamond disks cutter holders from nice metal

nice tools by laguna but ain't cheap this nice bandsaw will cost about $3000 and there are couple of antique tool dealer at the show are you guys salivating there yet?:)) i know i am:)) 1840s the prices are not bad i'd say antique drills those are stanley #45,55 (with many cutters)

this plane is from 1910s $120 condition is very good god knows what one can find here:)) yet, more planes... foot-operated scroll saw nicely cleaned $40 i think the price has to do with the type of medallion (saw age/rarity)

i bought this grinder as the price was even better than online and i was shopping for it anyway $480 ended up getting a few accessories for it robert sorby cutters $40-60 it is a nice us brand that makes quality jigs etc powermatic is a nice brand but not cheap. this bandsaw is over $3000 and this jet is not a slacker either these two brands are like lexus and toyota probably

this is a 3d cnc machine this is a simpler cnc machine nice walnut slices one can attach any 4 legs to that board and the table will look awesome all tools can be tested here love this miter saw but i can't swallow $1400, not yet...:)) it shines laser on both side of the cut the quality is the key word here very tight tolerances

this set up is nice for cabinet makers if they choose to use the side screw system this is an automated machine woodcraft used to sell lie nielsen but now they sell their own line woodriver... solid iron table the lower dust collector this is one of the most interesting places for me here this is mr. noden the inventor of the noden razor inlay system the cutters are made from regular razor and scraps any shape can be designed

this kind of inlay looks particularly good on plates this is how he makes the inlay his way you can buy his kits on this website (i did) he really improved the set up since 5 years ago i last saw him this wafers are cut from scraps and can be tinted i consider his setup one of the most unique here this is an old german brand that is not presented well here in the us we only know their multitool and maybe the shopvac this gentleman is world famous inlay expert

he sells his own line of inlay tools i can see he is adopted mr. noden's technique 5 years ago he was saying that noden's razor caught his attention... looks like they bought the patent from tormek and still more antique tools... all kinds of molds
