i'm a redneck. you know i got it.i cannot tell you what grit or what have you of this stone it is.all i can tell you is there is a course side. and there's a fine side. and then i'll beusing another finer stone to kinda clean up that... too smouth it out a little... polishit up. this is a oil stone. opps... it's oiled now!lol
old woodworking tools prices, (music)this is really a fine stone. i don't believe it's much more doing a steel on it.(music) now the chipbreaker i'm not trying to putan edge on it so much but i'm trying to get that pretty flat there.so it will fit againstthe blade right nice and even.
(music)that's really all i think i need to do to that. yeah. oh yeah.... no light. no lightshines through you.dang! no light. dang i'm good.(music) i think you get the idea of what i'm doing.a long way to go. mama didn't raise no metal worker.is that good luck or something? it's 4 am.. 5am and there's a dragonfly on my drill press.getting there... but it aint fun. ok it took a couple days, i got tired. i cannottell a lie. that needed a lot of work. but, i tried just going from 100 grit to 220 grit,but it was real bad off so i went from, when i was flattening the sole i went from 60 thento 100 then to 220, then i went to 320 then
i polished with 400 grit. which it probablydidn't need, but..... so i got a piece of poplar here. let see wherewe got it at. oh... you may want to see what the thing looks like. got rid of all them...well most of them gaps in there. but... it's flat.let's see what we can do here... still need to work on that blade a littlebit and get it a little sharper. but.. not too bad.now i just need to learnto....plane.i'm going to widen that gap a little bit... opps.... not that much.let'ssee what it does. i really think this is more of a scrub plane than anything else. i'm nota plane expert... so i really couldn't tell ya. and that's it for this episode. uhhh idon't really know what i got planned on for
