i'm robert markey and i've been doing woodworking for many years and we're going to talk about spade bits. spade bits, there aremany different kinds of drill bits and the spade bit is in some ways the simplest. itis basically a flat bit. now there are slight variations if you notice that will hook onthe end and this is flat. this is going to give you a much cleaner cut than this. theyboth go through but this cuts the circle first.
essential woodworking power tools, when you want to drill something since yourhole ends here and the point is here make sure you have something under the thing thatyou are going to drill. if we would drill a hole through here it would go into the workbench. as soon as you feel it lift off then you know you are through. there is the holeand you can see how we went into this. if
you try to do it without a backing you wouldstill get a hole but the back you see how this is pretty nice here, the back would splitall out for you from the pressure of the drill right before you finished the hole. this isrobert markey and we have been talking about spade bits.
